227g, If you're not familiar with Bolivian coffee, then it's worth saying that this is an origin of huge potential - dizzying altitudes, traditional organic farming techniques and unique micro-climates all combine to create big bodied coffees with an array of flavours. Pedro Castro's Flor de Mayo farm rests at 1530 metres above sea level in the Caranavi region of Bolivia. His Caturra and Typica Arabica cherries are carefully selected when fully ripe, de-pulped and fermented for 15 hours. The parchment coffee is then washed clean with water from the mountain streams before being sun-dried on tables. No artificial fertilisers or pesticides are used in cultivation. This award winner provides the showcase for one of Latin America's most promising coffee producing origins. It has the unexpected, rare combination of both a big body and a sparkling acidity entwined with intense notes of cherry, caramel and sugar cane.
